Introducing 2020-21 EKSS Committee

October 15th, 2020

Every society requires a fuctioning committee to remain active and productive, and EKSS is no exception. After a procedural vote conducted by the society members, EKSS journal hereby announce the official establishment of our brand-new EKSS 2020-21 committee.

With Gain Kim as our newly-elect President, the society welcomes Suyeon Park as our Vice President. The President currently proceeds her second year in reading international relations, looking forward to continue presenting Korean culture and traditions in Edinburgh. The Vice President currently proceeds her second year in reading history, and aims to support the President in organising the society events

For our treasurer, the society invites Jaehwan Yun, a second year MA Business management student. With his indefatigable belief in importance of transparent budget statements, the treasurer aims to assure all society-led events can be adequately financed. Last but not least, the society secretary position is assumed by Hayley You, a second year MA Business and Economics student. With her clear focus on enhancing the quality of society-led events, the secretary aims to cooperate with the treasurer and other committee members to project the further improvements within our society.

The President, when asked of her views on the society affairs, highlighted the importance of Korean identity as transnational subject. Regardless to its nationally defined borderlines, she described its cultural flourishment as the outcome of both creative individuals and universal values.

With her 'diplomatic' eyes, the society once again challenges its past achievements with another distinguishable success in the joint-society socials. Through continuous cooperation along with other Asian societies, the society aims to represent Korea beyond its geographical location as an Eastern peninsula.

All Best Wishes to Our New 2020-21 Committee

The journey of 2020-21 EKSS committee has only begun. Despite all unfortunate crisis of COVID19 obstructing the normal election procedure, today the society proudly stands with her established committee of the exceptional members. EKSS journal wishes each and all of them the best wishes, will support their tasks by releasing punctual updates on society affairs and offering a lense of productive criticism.
